Hi,

My AEG Competence single oven (PCN 944 181 731) has stopped working. It previously had a fault a few months back where it would cut out and then restart 10 or so mins later - so I replaced the thermal cut out switch. This was clearly burnt so I knew what was wrong.

Now it's not working at all, no heat, clock, display, light etc. The thermal bullet thing I purchased (NZ Limitor) doesn't look burnt like last time, but could it still be worth replacing this to see if it's the culprit or are there other parts I should try first? The oven stopped working after the husband put it on full whack (why?) which is the only reason I'm tempted to try replacing the thermal thingy again!

But do also check the terminal block and the clock itself.

Thanks for the quick response. That's the same part I replaced last time, so perhaps it's the same fault again due to the high temperature.

Sorry - just noticed the end of your note - what should I be looking for re checking the terminal block or clock? Just incase I can rule them in or out before ordering the part.

Terminal block is at the back, where the supply cable connects.

The clock, if it's dead totally, will probably not have power due to the limiter fault on that oven.
