No idea, some of the "lifers" may be able to tell you but they were olds when I started almost twenty five years ago!

Oi! I resemble that remark.

How about giving us the model, serial number and colour?

To set you in the right era, the screws that hold the motor to the body, are they Phillips or Pozidrive? (There is a distinct difference) If they are pozi, it is post 1967.

Over to Martin when you come back with the results for the above.

Suspect the 1134 would be a few (20) years older than 1967, possible typo perhaps?

There again I trust Martin's memory on these more than mine.

Oh!...Testing my grey matter this is Alex, but whilst I don't know the production years I have a good recollection on model number order.

The photo I gave shows the 370 they subsequently followed by 375, 119, 1224, 1334 the so on as per madrat's listing...... I've not come across an 1134 or at least I don't recollect the number?....?

I am the proud owner or a 375 (circa 1950). :D

A picture of my collection so far.

Image

From digging around the internet, I have found out the 1124 was introduced in 1955 - 58, the 1334 with pink trim first introduced in 1958 (would love to find original rolldown bag for this) The 1346A in Navy & White 1972 - 75 (just like Mum used to have) I can't find a date for the U1104.

For some reason the U1104 has been cut out of the picture??

Nope, I've never, ever seen a Hoover 1124 ( a Hoover Convertible 1124A yes)....!

Check out YouTube if you will, there's loads of muppets there demonstrating their ancient contraptions. By the way, the 119 had the longest production run of all the Hoover Junior range. Only the 1334 outsold the 119 though it was far more an efficient machine for its size. The 1334 was heavier and harder to manoeuvre than the 119 hence why the 'handle bail' failed so very often.....oh happy memories come flooding back.:D
