Smeg DWF614ss with no fault code

Hi all
I've got a Smeg DWF614 that has a couple of faults. 1st is that it works fine on the rinse programme but on all the others it runs through the programme ok until it gets to 2 mins from the end then it goes to 5 minutes and continues until you switch it off. Also when the water doesn't heat up yet there is continuity across the heater terminals.

Anyone with any ideas please?
