Hoover washing machine door not locking

Postby Mrs Dunner » Sun Jul 29, 2012 11:38 am

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help, I've got a Hoover Nextra Optima HNL6126 which won't seem to lock therefore I can't wash anything.

The door clip snapped a couple of weeks ago but we could still use it by wedging something behind to open the door, my husband took the door off to glue the clip together, and was very careful not to get the glue anywhere else. Unfortunately since the the machine won't lock, you can here it click as if it's trying to lock but doesn't seem to recognize the catch is there to lock.

My Dad has had a look and the switch inside the machine didn't seem to be working properly so we ordered one and have just fitted it but this hasn't solved the problem, the door mechanism seems fine so I didn't really want to spend out money again in case this didn't work and for the age of the machine I don't know how far it is worth taking it.

Thank you very much for your time

When you close the door will it catch? or can you pull the door open again without pushing the handle if so you have inserted the catch the wrong way around.
When the door is open and you push the handle down does the catch move?
Also you might have done the screws to tight holding the interlock in place try loosening the two screws but not too lose so the lock moves.
I think the problem is with the door catch not the interlock.
