Whirlpool American Fridge/Freezer. Fridge FREEZING food

Postby Guest » Wed Jun 22, 2005 8:31 am

I have a Whirlpool American Fridge/Freezer Model No: 8586 152 15011? Or is it s20B RWW20-A/G. It is about 18-24 months old.

At the moment the Fridge compartment is freezing food in the top 2 shelves. The basket compartments at the bottom appear to be OK. Today it had frozen a red pepper, some chicken slices, fresh cream in a carton and a yoghurt. (great diet :D

The freezer compartment appears OK aswell.

Does anyone have any suggestions please

Just wanted to update that I the thermostat is always set to 6 (the warmest temperature) for the fridge.

Do you think it's an airflow problem?

Regards

The only way to run a fridge and the freezer is to put a thermometer in both cabinets.

Only then can you truly gauge the temperatures and the adjustments you make.

(The numbers on the dial mean nothing other than a reference point to change the setting from. A pen stroke or a pointer do the same thing as a number - nothing)

Yes it could be an Airflow problem as well as a thermostat problem, as well as it could be a design problem, as well as it could be about 10 other things or a combination of more than one thing

(How long is a piece of string?)

Play around with the settings and if it doesn'tcome right an engineers experience is the only solution

Isn't the unit under warranty?
