F&P GW709AU

Postby falc » Sun Jul 31, 2005 2:19 am

Hi,

My GW709AU will not begin a wash. I entered the diag mode(after reading around the forum to find out how) and received the following error lights:-

00110010

Any chance someone could email further diagnostics info to me at falcc41@hotmail.com ??

Thanks!

Falc.

Will this valve fault stop even a cold cycle wash? The machine doesn't begin to fill with any water at all. Just want to be sure before I order the part.

YES. The W/M does a self check diagnostic test, and it is picking up that there is no circut through the hot valve. It does this by pulsing voltage aroung the W/M, while it looks for certain signals

I called and apparently that part no. doesn't exist. They state that the hot water inlet valve is part no. 426142.

Same thing???

No, your WM is a phase 5, the part no they gave you is for phase 1 - 4. Tell them the Model No and they will give you the right one.

Well I managed to get the right part, 420148.

I've installed it and the same fault still exists. Just wasted $36.

The machine doesn't fill with water and the lights 00110010 are displayed after a couple of minutes and if I check in diag mode.

HELP!

Strangely I have come across the same problem with an 09 WM today, and the hot valve did not work, although it said in diagnostics the valve was faulty. I suspect the motor controller is faulty, but wont know for sure until Thursday. Controller PN 426974p. :?

In this thread http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p ... pic&t=6501
alexa says that the cold valve is proportional and indicates that the hot valve isn't. On the packaging for 420148 it states it is a proportional valve.

Maybe it IS the wrong part??

You are right. The hot valve part no is 420147, but it does not affect the operation, as the valve coils (electrical part) have exactly the same resistance. The proportional part is when the valve shuts off, the hot is on or off, the cold can be gradually closed by altering the voltage to the coil.

Yes, it worked. However I did replace the hot valve as it had a crack in it, but this didnt change the initial hot valve fault as I metioned earlier.

So you replaced the motor controller?

Is there anything else that could be causing the same error? The motor controller is expensive so I don't want to buy the wrong thing and waste a lot of money.

Thanks for your continual support.

Its a comman fault on phase 5 machines the solinoid goes on the cold water and damages the module. It then gives the error code for the Hot inlet. They can be repaired.

Hi Guys,
just joined as my machine is not working, same exact fault.
wish i had have stayed in the whitegoods industry today..... but computers pays more.
Anyhow.
Same fault, wont fill and when emptying the motor pumps and spins for a few secs and stops, then again for a few secs and then stops. the time it runs for is and intermittant time frame.
Diags shows up as
00110010

and strangley after 3 mins off it running that fault comes up also.
i'll check the hot valve in the morning for resistance. so it should be about 60 ohms?

Please help. Wife is not happy about the Laundry mat as her place to be nightly
