This is not a solution; it just (sometimes) gets the machine up & running again by releasing the anti-flood switch.

The cause of the flood still needs to be identified. This can be one of a number of things; internal leak' blockage, overfoaming caused by incorrect, rinse aid dosage, obstruction of spray arms, PCB failure or motor failure to name a few.

Also, the longer the machine is sitting there flooded the more chance there is that internal components such as the motor will become damaged (you'll know this happens when you turn your dishwasher on and your lights go out).

Those wanting to have a go themselves please remember to pull the plug first otherwise it may be time to call in a pro (Repairs@)

Hm, yes, I take your point. I accept that I used the wrong word.

The "tipping it over" action has resulted in the machine functioning, apparantly normally.

I would like to trace the leak, and I wonder if you are able to offer any guidance on the correct sequence of dismantling the appliance?

You should make sure that the filters are clear, also if you are using 3 in 1 tablets or even 4 in 1 tablets then it would be advisable to use separate detergent, rinse aid and salt. The 3 in tablets can cause over soaping resulting in water getting into the base. There are many places internally that can leak and for safety reasons we cannot go into step by step instructions, please remember to remove the plug if you intend to investigate further.

You can't I'm afraid Tim. Even we in the trade can't get that. Merloni take the position of only allowing their own service network have access to it

The service manual is listed on the spares disk but it is not available to order.

Just found this forum and thread while trying to fix my own DI67. As indicated in this thread the flashing indidator is a result of the flood detector.

In my case, and I suspect in many others reporting the same symptoms after 15 to 18 months of usage I believe the cause may be the failure of the sealing between the upper and lower parts of the stainless steel interior. I found a "string" of sealant bead hanging out from the join. I suspect this is a case of time to replace the unit but I intend to try a repair with silicon sealant - if it works fine if not I'll have lost a couple of quid.
Interestingly we recently changed our brand of dishwasher tablets - I'm suspicious that maybe some brands are harder on this original sealant than others - or maybe it's just old age and a rather poor design.

Replying to my own post...
oh well it was a good idea but no luck!

It seems it is either the circulating pump itself or a leak nearby and just above - it's damned difficult to see exactly where the leak is from.

I could get a replacement pump from eSpares for about £60 but don't want to do this if I can't be certain that is the source of the leak.

Guess I'll check for blocked/split pipes first and then decide.

I hate replacing whole units if a few more years can be eaked out of them with a little care and not too much expense.

Further revelation!...

On closer inspection I can see the leak is dripping from above the motor/pump. Eventually traced it to a trickle down from plastic fitting which feeds the upper spray arm. When I unscrewed this I could see that the plastic thread was split allowing the water to seep past the O-ring seal
behind the fitting.

So now I am searching for a source of a replacement for this part. Either that or I'll have to tray and bodge a repair!

Number stamped on existing part is 17400059306.

Yep, that's definitely it. amazing what you can do with a bit of superglue, some PTFE tape and a new O-ring as a VERY temporary repair. Good enough though to confirm that there are no other leaks (for now!).

Now to track down a spare part for a more permanant fix.

I've contacted eSpares and if that fails I guess I can try calling Indesit UK spares direct on 0870 5585850.

I had the same symptom - constantly flashing light on the front panel. Upon going to remove the filter in the base of the unit to examine it, I found that a lid from my washing items had fallen onto the floor of the unit and was preventing the rotor water spray arm from rotating. I removed this, removed and cleaned the filter and put my hand into the base (where these was water) to help displace a little of the water). Replaced the filter (and cover) and closed the unit back up - and it worked again after turning the programme selector to Reset first, then back to the programme that I wanted. Seems the that flashing light can indicate a 'jam' as well as serious hardware faults too. Hope this helps others.
