Smeg DWF 44 SS

Postby janet77 » Sun Feb 19, 2006 11:38 am

I wonder if anyone can help.

I have a Smeg compact dishwasher DWF44SS.1. It is two to three years old and has been great. Last week I noticed a burning smell and when I looked inside the element was hot but there was no water action other than the bottom of th tank being full.

I have now cleaned out all filters and checked intake and drainage, etc. I now know that the water drains well and that the dishwasher tank takes in water through the feed in the side of the tank. Still there is no "spinning arms" and general cleaning action - only water sitting in the bottom and the element getting hot.

Any thoughts at all? All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Janet

If the heater has been activated without water, the water level control system is at fault - it thimks it's full of water when it isn't. Usually a bit of a demolition job to resolve - time for pro help? Click the link below.

Power off if investigating further.

Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

Hi

Thanks for your help. Thing is there is water in there but, despite all the arms being clean and clear - no water is coming from them and they do not move.

Do you still think this is the same problem?

Hi

It looks like the main wash motor has either seized or is jammed,It will need a closer inspection by an engineer.

hope this helps
