Caple DI414 Dish-no-washer!

Postby ConfusedOfBerks » Thu Feb 23, 2006 8:26 pm

Hi

I've got a Caple DI414 Integrated dishwasher (Ser no. 33 0347 006737), made in Germany don'tcha know!

Well since it was installed, it's never been really good at getting stuff clean, but now it REALLY sucks! There doesn't seem to be any water getting to the top spray elements and there's only rather a pathetic trickle coming out of the lower spray arm. There aren't any blockages in the arms and the filters have always been cleaned and replaced properly.

The filter cover sieve was broken and I had to remove it, underneath was a rubber 'O' ring, that doesn't really seem to sit anywhere very well and is a real *&!@£$^* to position when replacing the part. Could it be the pump not pushing the water with enough force? Or have I just re-installed the sieve poorly?

I started running a cycle with the door open by manually activating the door switch, so I've watched quite a bit of what it does. I'm stumped because I don't know what it SHOULD do to know how to spot the fault.

Can anyone help?

Sounds like it's underfilling - the water should fully cover the central recess of the cavity. Usually a bit of a demolition job to resolve as various hoses and air chambers need to be removed and cleaned.

Click the link below for pro help if you're not confident with this, power off if you're going to investigate further.

Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?
