It depends what you call really hot ;)

The gas from the compressor is pumped around the door area to prevent ice from forming so warm is normal but quite often it feels hot especially in warmer weather.

If the unit is funtioning normally otherwise it's probably nothing to worry about :)

Dave.

I agree with Dave, warm. I am in the middle of one that because the compressor cooling fan has failed due to water ingress from holed water pipe and thus has made compressor work very hard causing middle column between freezer and fridge to become quite hot. Worth checking that the fan is running when the compressor is.

HTH

Greg

:!: PS Dont be poking your finger near that fan it has metal blades and stops for no one

Paolo

i talked to a tecnician from whirlpool and the problem is:

remove the lower plastic at the front and clean the evaporator (its like a radiator), i think it has lots of dust, clean it all and your problem will be solved.

Thats very brash of him, but does tie in with air flow. Please unplug before attempting any work on the appliance :plug:
