Count the pattern of the flashing light - ie, 1-2-3-4-pause-repeat and report back please.

Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

Single flash normally indicates a motor problem, however your comments about the dryer operating when not instructed suggest some sort of problem with the computer board.

This is a technically complex machine and diagnosis is not always straightforward - certainly in a remote situation like this! If you wish to keep the appliance going, I would seriously recommend pro assistance - click the red tool box to see if there is a UKW repairer in your area.
