Whirlpool adg7540 dishwasher cold water only

Postby Butch » Tue Aug 15, 2006 9:44 pm

My 3 year old adg7540 has stopped heating the water during wash cycle. All cycles work as normal other than water is cold I assume it is the inline heater element, does anyone know how to change this component or better still point me in the direction of a service manual

regards

Hi Butch
With the appliance unplugged you will need multimeter to check resistence of heater to confirm its failure.
As for diagrams may I refer you to top of this forum namely...Professional Advice in the Public Forums

Failure of the heater should give an error code. No hot water, no error code and completing the cycle is normally a faulty module.
Test the heater as Penguin suggests, if it checks out as being OK it's more than likely a faulty module.

I suggest you test the heater.......

There, is that better now?

:p45:
Which bit of "Unplug it" is causing the problem?

Thats fine but you need to set the meter range correctly.
It should have read 28ohms which is about right for the heater.

Its either going to be a faulty module or faulty NTC which Ive had in the past even though its not showing a fault code flash/s.
I think its going to be engineer time in all fairness, please check the link below.

Cheers
