Hoover Performa 1100 ( AC110 )

Hi, When my machine goes onto the spin cycle it was only spinning
slowly,and making a strange noise.Then picking something up off
the floor, looked under machine and saw sparks coming from
the motor 8O 8O . So switched off :idea: .
Does this mean a new motor :cry: ,

It'll be the motor brushes wearing out, Bev. You'll need a pair of these:

If you're not confident about removing the motor and fitting them, click the link below for a UKW engineer in your area.

In the meantime, don't use the machine - you run a serious risk of cooking the motor - then it gets expensive!

Power off if investigating.

or husband will :wink: He's O K with car engines, havn't let him loose
on washing machine before.

Similar to the brushes on an alternator on the car, let him have a go , if not as p45 says look up a local wg engineer
