Hotpoint Aquarius VTD00 - Stopped working..

Postby jetster » Wed Sep 07, 2011 3:26 pm

Our dryer has suddenly stopped working, put a load in just now and it makes an unusual kind of humming sound. Belt is intact.

Anyone any ideas?

Thank you!

maybe the capacitor, although this is usually a fault mainly on the CTD00 condenser dryer, yours is a vented type. With the lid off, start it up and push the drum round by hand, if it starts-its the capacitor

Dumb question, but where is the capacitor? Just looked at hotpoint spares and they have 2 types of capacitor for our model.

Just want to say a big thank you once again, we got a capacitor delivered for under £15. Hubby fitted it and it is now in good working order once again :tleft:
