Neff R4381X1GB dryer

Postby kitchencare » Wed Mar 09, 2011 10:53 am

My dryer has a problem.

No matter which programmes you select, the LCD display count down goes down to zero after roughly 3 mins. I called Neff and they advised that it could be the sensor.

I stripped it down, cleaned all excess fluff etc from filters, heat exchanger etc and replaced the sensor but it is still doing the same thing.

Is it the display PCB that is causing the problem or the main module to the right?

Yes , if you do a sensor dry cycle empty , it will shut down as it thinks everything's dry.

With a damp load in , Does it count down , and continue to count down without the drum actually turning ? If yes , then its most probably the door lock .

.....oh , and don't forget to give the paddles inside the drum a really good clean.

Works fine with damp load, heats, drum turns but beeps sooner than countdown finishes?
Is it important to keep the paddles clean? Damp cloth ok for that?

The paddles can get a thin limescale coating so a wipe with white vinegar has been recommended to me .
When your machine beeps , do you get any other indications with it i.e flashing lights or anythiing in the LED display ?

Yup totally clear, when stripped I vacuumed out all the excess fluff from the inside too. Condensor cleaned with power shower so blasted all the excess out. I also need to replace the door lock button at the bottom that tells the lock it's shut(the round bit on the bottom right) is there an easy waymto do this or just to click it out of place
Thanks guys appreciate your help
