AEG L16830 Washer/Dryer filter problem

Postby DJ-kh » Thu Mar 05, 2009 10:01 pm

Hi,

It seems people are finding it very easy to clean the filter, but for me it turns out to be a complete nightmare!

Took some time to remove the drain pump filter but finally I got it out (this is the first time))
Cleaned (it was little and tried to put it back to the machine again
But it seems stucked and and the end (after seal) is sticking out

Only top plastic screw cap is spinning but not catching anything...
I can't take it out or screw back in properly.

Please some help me?
Any idea to how to remove this? or do I have to call an engineer to fix this?

Thank you

as you pulled it out all the fluff and limescale and wotever else that has built up against it has fallen behind it as you pulled it out, its either that or you need to turn it 180 degrees and then try.

Thanks for your quick response, smartin.

I've already tried 360! or even more!!! but it just keeps turing around and around....
It seems to get loose and then tight and its loose again and again...

if you look carefully at the sides of the filter there are 2 raised spines on 1 side and 1 on the other, they locate into grooves in the housing, if they are blocked with limescale it will be difficult to fit and it will only go in 1 way.
