Hoover Performa 1100 - fill problems - easy repair?

Postby dekka » Tue Nov 30, 2004 12:01 am

Our Hoover Performa 1100 isn't filling up with enough water, the clothes are just damp during wash and rinse cycles. It does admit water and it enters the machine fast, but it shuts off too quickly. To get a decent wash I have to add more using a hose from the kitchen tap, same applies to rinsing. Is this problem fairly simple to fix ?

"Performa 1100" is a generic description across various models of Hoover washing machines and will not help us help you. Please check the control panel of the appliance for something like "AC110" or similar.

Bear in mind that modern washers wash at far lower water levels than previously, so the fact that you can't see water in the machine may not actually be a fault!

Please advise model and we can go from there.

Penguin45.

Penguin 45, thank you for replying! The model number of the machine is AC110, apologies for not including that in my post. Because the clothes are just damp during wash and rinses, they don't smell fresh afterwards and also feel soapy. That's why I add more water myself, just enough to bring the level to the lower part of the glass. I'ts a nuisance to have to do that all the time. I wondered if there was a water level sensor in the machine which may be faulty.
Many thanks again, I appreciate your time.

Presumably the spin cycle is OK, are the clothes coming out still wet ?

It sounds more like a slow draining problem rather than not enough water which is a quite uncommon complaint.

Thanks for your reply Dave. It is emptying and spinning ok. Will just live with it, if there had been an easy way to adjust the water level then it would have been great.
Best wishes for Christmas and 2005 to all.

Thanks Martin, sorry, not used to these chat forums and dont know how to find my way round yet. Hence I asked the question twice. Will try phoning Hoover, though I have gone to www.saynoto0870.com for a landline number to reduce my costs. Are you aware of this site? Its promoted by www.Moneysavingexpert.com too. Keep up the good work.

Hi Martin,

I have a similar problem to Vikki.

We have just moved into a rented flat where we have a Hoover Quattro System 1100 AB. We have no idea what the different numbers on the Spin Settings apply to.

If you could shed any light on this I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is a conceptual problem with posting Hoover model numbers........ There are hundreds of models, the number will take whoever looks it up for you straight to it. Printed on the control panel and on a label on the door opening surround.

Thanks for the reply Penguin.

The numbers around the drum are:

Mod: AS 110-001
N: 3761410499491355
G 0010

There are 14 settings. Would that information be enough to determine what any of the settings are for?

Thanks for your feedback.
