Spare parts for appliances from UK Whitegoods

Hello all,
A friend of mine has an Indesit WIL 85 and the yellow 4hr time delay button is solid and the machine won't start, I can't get rid of the light other than holding the on/off switch for several seconds while all the lights flash but it reverts back to the solid 4hr time delay light.
Is this a controller board issue? is there a way i can reset it or could it be a "mere" capacitor replacement? I'll go there tomorrow and will check if there's any humidity on the controller board connections and if there's any sign of a blown capacitor.
If i replace the capacitor do i need to program the eeprom?
Thanks in advance!

How would you propose to re program the eeprom?
