servis (M3008W) washing machine

Postby GARYMCC1 » Sun Sep 21, 2008 6:51 pm

Hi my servis washing machine has developed a fault basically it stopped mid cycle with water in the drum etc. I drained the water and followed usual troubleshooting rubbish but to no avail. I tried the door latch first as I was told this is a common fault but this was fine I was then pointed to the pressure switch and heres the thing......I removed the rubber tube and blew gently into the switch and the machine started working and when I stopped blowing the machine stopped again. Does this mean the switch is faulty or can anyone shed a little light or offer some advice please as its been a week now and my head is busted with the Mrs....lol

the switch isnt faulty but you really shouldnt be working on the machine with the plug in.
if the door locks but the machine doesnt work its the pcb but please take the plug out.

Hey there I appreciate the concern about the machine being switched on I only had it on the test the switch and continuity etc. I have removed and checked the pcb for dry joints and burn marks etc but it seems clear enough. Dont want to throw a pcb at it incase it doesnt work. but do you think that since I can activate it via the pressure switch that it must be the pcb? by the way the pcb number is:546013101 and then for digit: 0786

its common practise for manufacturers to wire the switch in with the pump, its just an antiflod protection, in case of valve failure.. if the valve sticks open then the machine will empty itself when it fills up to a certain level
its to stop flooding you out while your out, thats all

as suedehead says, if the doors locking, and it doesnt start, then its nearly always the pcb on a servis

advice? servis pcbs are ridiculously priced and horrendously unreliable, cut your losses and go and buy a new one

just not a haier
or a indesit
or a hotpoint
or a servis

spend a little more and head towards the bosch section, the cheaper machines are false economy

hope this clarifies things a little better?
