Hi

First thing First PULL OUT THE MAINS PLUG.

Then if you can lean the machine back a little (get someone to hold it if poss) and have a look underneath at the motor, There should be a small magnet fixed firmly to the center of the spindle by a plastic screw.

These often become loose and either fall off or come to far out to work properly, You should be able to screw it back into place and that should sort out your problem,

While your there, make sure the Tacho coil is pushed firmly back in place with the little spring clip thingy in place.

If the thread is damaged on the magnet (will not do back up and just keeps turnng round) a repair kit is available from Dave click on the spares section and send a message from there

Hope this helps
