Drier functions ok if set for 15 mins or less.
Above 15 mins condenser valve & drain pump do not power up! Hot wet washing is the result! All of the hardware functions correctly
but for 20 mins drying time or more pump & condenser valve are off.
This problem seems almost certainly a programming error in the software.I am certain this is manufacturers fault.Problem is we have only just noticed it as we have only tried to use the drier about 4 times.Any body help please? The vendors will only proceed further if I prove the fault has been there since day one.

Sorry to tell you Mike but the fault cannot be associated in that way. It is without doubt something that has occurred since and through normal 'wear & tear'.

Usually as a result of a faulty water inlet valve, blocked condenser matrix or heating element failure. Therefore down to the owner (if that is you?) to resolve at your/their own expense.....sorry!

Hi

What happens on the automatic drying programs.
These machines were made in 2008.

Hi Washman,
Same thing, dryer runs fine if set for 15mins
Starts cycle,
timer increases 3min drum rotates back & forth drain pump runs 40secs.
End of 3mins Pump on, heater on,condenser water on,fan on, finishes cycle ok.
If 20mins or more programmed on timer,
first 3min ok,then fan, heater, drum as normal but no pump or water.Completes cycle hot wet washing end result
Good news, vendor paying for Zanussi engineer with computer to diagnose fault next Wed.Hopefully he will reload software!

He can't, not possible besides that isn't the problem. It's a hardware problem (if we must use computer speak) most likely the condenser, dryer element of NTC I expect. Either way I'm sure his visit on Weds will be successful. :D

Hi Martin,
Can you say why the drain pump & condenser water valve are not powered when electronic timer set for 20min,but are powered when
set for 15mins.the only change in the programme is the time!

Hi Martin,
But the heater is on at 15mins programmed!
Dryer functions as a dryer for 5min.
If I set any time between 20min & 4hrs the pump & condenser water valve don't power up until it is 15mins from the end,
then at 10mins the heaters power off!
The instruction manual says I can set 10 minute drying cycle!
can't dry without heat
also I have found that the pump & water valve are powered during the first two mins that the program adds, most strange!
I think the EWM 2100 computer board EEPROM has been configured for a different machine by mistake as it used in lots of different machine models.
I have found the self diagnostics & all pass ok!

Brilliant news

So we will wait the outcome on Wednesday next. Taking all of the comments so far I will stick my neck out at this juncture and say that the fault lies with the DRYER HEATING ELEMENT!!!

......place your bets now please! 8)

turn to drain and start the program then press both the start button and the button to the left of it together and hold them in until a code appears in the display if its ED4 then its the dryer element that has become damp through lack of use and must be replaced any other code then post it on here

Another symptom!drier comes on during wash cycle at 18mins from end then stops after 1min.Wash cycle completes normally.

Do you recall if he accessed the programmes 'auto diagnostics test' whilst he was there.?

The dryer fan coming on during the wash cycle again indicates to me that the dryer element may well have an earth leak, but hey, I've mentioned it before anyway.
