White-Westinghouse was formed by the takeover of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation's appliance unit by White Consolidated Industries in 1975. White Consolidated Industries was then acquired by Electrolux in 1986.
Westinghouse Electric entered the appliance industry by buying the Copeman Electric Stove Company in 1917.

It's production was relocated to Mansfield, Ohio. Copeman had begun manufacturing the first electric ranges in 1914. Electric ranges gained in popularity as electrification became widespread throughout the United States.
The company claims to have made several important innovations which include the following:
1930s refrigerators with sealed refrigeration units
1930s room air conditioners
1930s portable dishwashers
1939 automatic washing machine that was not bolted to the floor.
1950s frost-free refrigerators.
Currently appliances bearing the Westinghouse or White-Westinghouse name are made under license all over the world.
In the UK the name is currently licensed to Premium Appliance Brands Limited who aquired the name in 2005 after the Bernstein Group, who had previously owned the rights to the name, entered into liquidation and PAB bought the Bernstein Group. In 2009 PAB also entered administration.
Please note that despite this being a well known American brand name the appliances sold in the UK and many other regions are not American produced appliances.
The UK appliances are normally sourced from Italy and the Far East.
This depends very much on the market, but in the UK they pricing seems to be following the general trend of all PAB brands.
White Westinghouse spares follow the general trend of other PAB brands.
Availability is fairly good in general and we have little trouble in obtaining most spares but this may change due to the demise of PAB in 2009. Most of the commonly used white Westinghouse spares are available in our online spare parts store with some other spares being available to order.
Obvioulsy as the parent company is no longer trading there is no official service support.
Most of the repairers listed on the Find An Engineer facility will however be able to repair most White Westinghouse applainces.
