In 1987 Electrolux purchased the white goods division of the British company, Thorn-EMI which held the rights to the brands Tricity, Stott Benham and Parkinson Cowan.
Quite how and when Electrolux came into posession of the "Bendix" brand for appliances is not entirely clear but the old Bendix manufactured appliances have been highly regarded by both trade and public alike. No doubt this is why the brand was bonded to Tricity, a predominantly British manufacturer and brand name famed for its range of cookers.
It was rumoured that in 2010 the brand would be dropped by Electrolux.
Electrolux seem to have positioned the new Tricity Bendix brand in the lower segment of the market in an atempt to have a presence at the cheap end whilst not detracting from the higher value , Electrolux and AEG brand names also available in the UK.
It would appear that the brand has now been dropped.
Spares pricing is generally in line with other Electrolux brands, , Parkinson Cowan, AEG and Electrolux where some can be expensive but in the main they are not too bad. Also, with the huge crossover of spare parts from one brand to the other there are quite a few cheaper pattern spares available.
Almost any Tricity Bendix spare parts can be found in our online store or sourced by UK Whitegoods and also through local Service Force agents.
A great many of the internal components are shared with the other Electrolux brands, many of the, particularly, laundry products looking to be nothing more than a re-badged Zanussi washer at a lower price.
Aftersales service is the same as the other Electrolux brands.
And, as with the other Electrolux brands, most of the approved repairers you will find listed on our Find An Engineer search facility will repair Tricity Bendix economically.
