From Lofra's UK Website: "For over 50 years LOFRA have been producing class leading, durable cookers, that combine aesthetic looks and advanced technology to meet the expectations of all our customers.
LOFRA, whose factory is based at Padova, an old university city near Venice, Italy, is a family business that is now run by the founder's children."
Lofra cookers have been in the UK officially for a few years now but, recently, in January of 2007 the UK importer and distributor for the brand, New Wave Cooking Co. Ltd, ceased trading leaving a question mark over existing warranties. We will update this article with news as we get it.
Lofra Market Position
The brand has traditionally been in the mid-section on price and on quality. Although definitely superior to many of the cheap cookers that are on the market they are not the best, although it has to be said that at the price level, they are very worthwhile.
However, until Lofra manage to resolve the UK service issues we cannot recommend buying one, even second hand.
Official UK service for Lofra products in the UK is presently unavailable other than our good selves for unofficial support.
Lofra Spare Parts
With recent events the future of service on the brand is unclear at best but, in the past, service has been carried out by independent repairers, so good and cheap.
Parts at the moment can be difficult to obtain for UK appliances but at least we can now get them, even if there can be some delay in them arriving from Italy. Which is a massive improvement over the past few years.
There are a number of spare parts, cooker elements, door hinges, door seals and more now available to order in our online spare parts store but please, we do urge people to contact us in advnce to check that you are ordering the correct spare part unless you are 100% sure.
Please do not use the comments below to ask for technical help or advice on any Lofra range cooker or another appliance as the engineers will not see the request. Please use the forums where more help will be available and is a completely free service.
