Titan Washing Machine

The new incarnation for 2007/8 of the Titan washing machine
In January of 2002 Monotub, the maker of the Titan washing machine, said it may have to shelf production after a string of delays and product faults.
Martin Meyerscough the inventor the Titan, which is notable for its removable drum, refused to give a figure for the number of machines sold. Although Monotub had an exclusive distribution deal with Currys, only seven out of the UK's 384 Currys stores at the time ever had a display model of the Titan.
The Titan's launch was twice delayed and sales were hampered by technical teething problems and bad publicity. Monotub blamed damage caused "in transit" for a Which? report finding that the machine leaked, jumped and made horrible noises. Titan Monotub was forced to admit rectifying the problems had hit sales and was adding to losses.
Not long after Monotub collapsed and all the tooling and rights were sold back to Meyerscough.
In 2006 the Titan was resurrected but again appeared to suffer from reliability issues.
The headquarters of Titan Washing Machine Ltd is at Framlingham Technology Centre, although the models themselves are being made in the town of Zhongshan, west of Hong Kong.
As far as we are aware these washing machines are no longer being sold.
The Titan retails for about the £500 mark so it isn't cheap and it isn't what we can call service friendly, quite the converse in fact and appears to be sold in small numbers through independent dealers only.
No spares sources are known and we cannot source spare parts for Titan washing machines.
Current service arrangements are unknown.
Service was a real challenge on these machines with even simple jobs taking much, much longer than was acceptable. Therefore, finding a repair that would be willing to look at the machine may be a challenge.
