Teka (pronounced te - ka) is a large group that currently owns the Thor and Kuppersbusch appliance brands as well as selling under the Teka name. Teka is a large industrial group employing nearly 6.000 people worldwide with an annual turnover to over $1.4 billion and 90 years of history.
The Teka Group’s business areas span domestic and professional equipment for the kitchen and bathroom, stainless steel storage containers and electronics.
In 1999 Teka completed its acquisition of the German Kuppersbusch brand.
There is little beyond this known about the brand so far as appliances are concerned.
Teka has, in the UK, been seen as a downmarket appliance usually used by specialist kitchen installers and rarely seen outside of this arena.
Products, such as dishwashers have been made for the company by third party Chinese manufacturers presumably to hit price points in-store.
Spares are relatively easy to obtain but, at times, can be or appear to be disproportionately expensive in relation to the purchase price of the products.
Service has been somewhat nomadic but largely remaining with independent repairers since the company entered the UK in teh 1990's.
