Fridgemaster

Fridgemaster was a budget own label brand that was formed by the ill fated HI Group supplying budget cookers, fridges, freezers and fridge freezers.

Fridgmaster brand logoThe brand faltered in 2012 with the demise of the HI Group although, at the time of writing, there were persistent rumours in the industry that the Chinese Hisense company was set to buy both the Fridgemaster and Frigidaire brands from the Hi Group administrators.

So far as we know the original manufacturer of most Fridgemaster products, the Chinese company HiSense Kelon, has now taken over the brand and it seems to be being sold almost exclusively through Currys.

  Fridgemaster Service

Until the demise of the HI Group service was carried out by Independent Service (ISDAL), who were a company that belonged to the group. Since the demise of the group no known service arrangements are in place for the brand for product sold prior to this point.

The new products seem to be handled by Curry's own KnowHow servicing.

  Fridgmaster Spare Parts

Like service, at the time of writing, who holds the responsibility to supply spare parts for the brand is unknown.

Many spare parts can be obtained but some, for older units especially, can be difficult, expensive or impossible to get a hold of.

Thankfully some parts, like the hinges used on integrated models, are pretty standard and can be obtained at sensible prices on most occasions.

Overall Rating

Not enough information on the Fridgmaster brand to offer a lot of opinion
As an own label for the HI Group which has ceased trading any comment is largely a moot point in that regard but as a newly resurected brand, it sits at the bottom of the food chain in quality and so forth

I bought a Fridgemaster MC55224FF Combi fridge freezer. After less than 3 years it has broken down. I\'ve called AW and was told it\'s not worth repairing it ... I should buy a new one. I expect at least 5 years from a fridge freezer and a bit disappointed that the fridge has already packed in!

I purchased a fridge master fridge in July from AO .com when it was set up saw thermostat was faulty , took a week to get sorted at time of complaint asked about replacement was told because it had been connected they would be unable to sell it on ,then on 8th September bulb fuses, week later still waiting on repair, I can see why company went out of business,so I expect all positive write ups about fridge were false . A very disgruntled customer ...

Yes, that's what's known as the anti-condensate line which stops condensation building up around the door seal.
