Hisense Kelon

Hisense company logo

Hisense is a Chinese manufacturer of domestic appliance including washing machines, fridges, freezers and fridge freezers although the group does manufacturer a wide range of other consumer electronics, air conditioning and small applainces.

From what we can gather Hisense was set up in 1987 but there isn't too much of the actual history of how the company came into being available.

The actual brand is little known in the UK but so far as we can gather Hisense has made branded products that have been sold under various brand names in the UK including Frigidaire and Fridgemaster until the demise of the HI Group in 2012. Insofar as we are aware Hisense branded domestic appliance products were not sold in the UK although televisions may have been.

They also make for other brands, such as Rangemaster side by side and other fridge freezer products that are rebadged Hisense machines.

Our sources tell us that Hisense have acquired these brands from the HI Group administrators, Ernst & Young, which has been confirmed.

  Hisense Service

Until the demise of Independent Service (ISDAL) alongside the collapse of the HI Group service on the Fridgemaster and Frigidaire brands was carried out by ISDAL. We presume that any Hisense branded products that may have been sold in the UK would also have been serviced by ISDAL although there is no clarity on that particular point.

We have no official confirmation but it is believed that service for these brands will move to JTM Contracts or 0800 Repair.
