Further help on how frost free refrigeration works can be found in this article.
Common Mistral Range Problems
Without doubt the most common issues with the Hotpoint Mistral fridge freezers that are the frost free type are the two thermistors, this one in the freezer and this one in the fridge. These thermistors seem to fail, for whatever reason, on a fairly regular basis and create all kinds of different symptoms.
The actual control modules seem to be pretty robust, they rarely fail.
Fan motors do fail but contact us for advice as there are three different kinds used and there have been changes made to those spares.
