This set of fault codes for the TCL series of tumble dryer models from Hotpoint and may not relate to any other models.
These error codes do not relate to ALL Hotpoint tumble dryers. If you are unsure please ask in the forums as well as for all other Hotpoint tumble dryer fault codes.
Please remember to support our site by buying Hotpoint spares from our store here and, if you decide that you really need an engineer please support the local repairers that help make this site possible, you can search for a repairer from this link.
We have purposely not listed any Hotpoint tumble dryer spares in this article.
Please, don't guess or assume as spares can be altered on a production run with the same model number having several different alternative components used.
These fault codes are written for washing machine repairers and not for the general public by Hotpoint and they assume a certain level of competence on the part of the user in diagnostic routines. We have added some notes to try to assist you in determining the nature of the fault you have but, you will still need to investigate each failure on its own merits. For more help and advice on fault finding on a washing machine please refer to our basic fault finding guide from this link before you begin.
In order to read these fault codes please note that the horizontal lights on the tumble dryer will all flash and the combination of vertical lights below will flash indicating the cause of the error being reported with the tumble dryer.
Only the bottom five lights are used to indicate the error and are shown as being read from bottom to top. So, read the lights left to right which equates to bottom to top.
This is our very simple legend to show the state of the lights, lamps or LED's as they are unlit, flashing or lit continuously.
| Light or LED not lit | Light or LED flashing | Light or LED lit solid, no flash |
