This set of fault codes for the CTD Ultima series of tumble dryer models from Hotpoint and may relate to any other Indesit produced tumble dryer models.
These error codes do not relate to ALL Hotpoint tumble dryers. If you are unsure please ask in the forums as well as for all other Hotpoint tumble dryer fault codes.
Please remember to support our site by buying Hotpoint spares from our store here and, if you decide that you really need an engineer please support the local repairers that help make this site possible, you can search for a repairer from this link.
We have purposely not listed any Hotpoint tumble dryer spares in this article.
Please, don't guess or assume as spares can be altered on a production run with the same model number having several different alternative components used.
These fault codes are written for washing machine repairers and not for the general public by Hotpoint and they assume a certain level of competence on the part of the user in diagnostic routines. We have added some notes to try to assist you in determining the nature of the fault you have but, you will still need to investigate each failure on its own merits. For more help and advice on fault finding on a washing machine please refer to our basic fault finding guide from this link before you begin.
On the lower modesl in this range there is no digital display so you will get a binary code usin gthe built in LEDs or neon lights that give indications and options. These can vary from model to model but will be in the pattern shown in the chart below.
| Indication Light Or LED | Numerical Value |
|---|---|
| Post Crease Care | 16 |
| Top left hand neon | 8 |
| Second neon down | 4 |
| Third neon down | 2 |
| Fourth neon down | 1 |
This primarily relates to the Hotpoint tumble dryer model CTD40. This tumble dryer uses the same codes as CTD80 or CTD85 but does not have a digital display.
The codes are displayed by flashing the ON/OFF neon and a combination of the top four left hand neon’s and the Post Crease Care neon.
Each neon has a numerical value as shown in the chart above.
The bottom neon is not used for fault codes.
You add the value of the flashing neon’s and compare them to the fault codes for the CTD80 and CTD85 For example Neon’s second fourth from top are 4+1 = 5 this gives you fault code F05 and so on. From that you can determin ethe fault condition as shown below.
