The appliance has a reset button, all you may have to do is press it!
On the rear of the machine to the top left (looking from the front) you should see a little red button, press it. If the tumble dryer then works you have found the problem, if not you may still require an engineer to call.
If this happens repeatedly please ensure that the ventilation is clear ALL the way and that the vent hose is not blocked in any way or the reset thermostat will simply trip again.
A lot of the information about blockages etc, in this article by Penguin45 also applies to these tumble dryers as well.
Never heard of Crosslee?
Crosslee are one of the largest manufacturers of tumble dryers in Europe but they are not so often seen under their own brand name, or their wholly owned "White Knight" brand as they are under other guises. In short Crosslee will manufacture for almost anyone and do.
The dryers discussed here are seen under the Whirlpool brand, both Hygnena and Diplomat brands (sold by MFI and Howdens Joinery) as well as Bosch. I'm sure that there are others, but it is hard remember them all.
I have included at the foot of this page a list of the known models that we have and for which brand that they were sold under.
Other Hints And Tips
Heater failures in this tumble dryer are very, very common, although to be fair we only see them once the element is faulty. We do stok the heater element for this dryer and you can get it from this link in the shop
Other common failures are the little exhaust thermostat which you can get from this link in our shop This is the little thermostat with two wires connected by spade terminals directly to the thermostat and not the one with the wires soldered on,
The control thermostat is also a common part to be used on this tumble dryer and you can find that spare part from this link in our spares shop
It's not too bad to replace the heater or either of the thermostats (or even all three) if you take your time and have a reasonable mechanical skill.
