At UK Whitegoods we had never really championed appliance warranties too much as, in all honesty, we viewed them as a bit restrictive and overpriced and often you were dealing with a non-specialised insurer.
But we also know that unexpected repair costs, especially with many spares costing so much now, can be a real crisis as all too often it happens just when you least need it to happen. This scheme gets rid of unexpected repair costs and offers some very unique advantages.
The nice thing about our scheme is that it is run by appliance specialists all the way through giving quick and efficient service levels and covers all mechanical repair costs. And, these days, repairs can be very expensive due to high spares prices more than anything else.
For example a typical washing machine or dishwasher control PCB is very often over £100 these days, much more on some. Call labour charges range vastly from about £35 and upwards depending on who does the call and where, but it is very common for repairs to exceed £100 these days, even on tumble dryers.
So we thought we could do better and offer people a better deal with better and faster local service and so we did just that with two low-cost schemes.
We offer both this scheme, the multi-appliance breakdown scheme and also, the new appliance scheme specifically for new purchases or appliances that are still under warranty.
There are several advantages to the UK Whitegoods multi-appliance warranty including:

• Lump sum repayment, based on the appliance’s age, if your appliance is deemed beyond repair

What we’ve done is to make this as flexible and easy to use as possible with as little paperwork as possible.
Using this scheme you have access to a local repairer that can respond quickly, not the week or more waiting times for an initial call from other schemes and the peace of mind that any electrical or mechanical failure will be covered so the repair doesn’t cost you a penny.
The best bit about this scheme and the thing that we really liked was that, if the machine is written off during the period, up to eight years old, you are guaranteed at least 30% of the original price you paid for the machine paid back to you. So far as we know, no other scheme offers this and we think this is a lot fairer than any other policy we've seen.
What Can Be Covered
You can have all the following appliances covered and, if you happen to have two fridges for example, you can cover both:
• Washing Machines
• Washer Dryers
• Tumble Dryers
• Dishwashers
• Cookers
• Ovens, hobs and hoods
• Fridges
• Freezers
• Fridge Freezers
• Microwaves
The only stipulations are that each appliance to be covered is in good condition and under five years of age from date of purchase and out of the manufacturers warranty.
How Much Does It Cost?
Surprisingly little is the simple answer, the best option is for three appliances or more to be covered as this is far more cost-effective. This means that the cost per appliance can be as low as £3.68 per appliance a month.
Single Appliance = £8.75 per month
Two Appliances = £11.25 per month
Three Appliances = £13.25 per month
Adding additional appliances to Option 3 would cost £3.25 per appliance up to a maximum of 8 machines being covered.
