I have a zanussi fj 1296 washing machine and when i turn it on i can hear the pump but nothing else. I have tried putting it on a wash and aspin but the drum doesnt move at all. Is it easy to change the motor and if it is how much does a one cost? I have had it about 6 years and this is the first thing that has gone wrong with it... please help Sad

thanks

Hi
I assume you have no motor action on wash or spin?
Before you go changing the motor, I would suggest you check the carbon brushes on the motor, you may find they are worn away completely

Hi pOxy
Watch the fill. If she starts to fill to far up the door you must get the w/m serviced as it may flood your floor.
If fill is normal and no wash or spin, but pumps out ok then it could be carbons.
If she washes and does not spin she needs a service.
(Tricky on these so call an engineer in.)
I asume you mean she fills and just sits idle Question

The problem will be as Toni has suggested and you need to check that out OR better still get an engineer in to do it Wink
