Electrolux: Electrolux Aquires Former Merloni Washing Machine Plant
Electrolux has signed an agreement to expand its operations in the growing emerging markets in Eastern Europe through an acquisition of a factory in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine.
The acquisition strengthens the Electrolux presence in Eastern Europe and will function as a part of the Electrolux supply base for markets in Central and Eastern Europe. Ukraine participates in the free trade framework within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which includes Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan and other countries.
Electrolux: Electrolux Buy Daewoo - More Details Emerge
According to reports an Iran-based household and kitchen appliance manufacturer is one of only two suitors picked to bid for the troubled Daewoo Electronics.
Entekhab Industrial Group, which makes fridges and cookers and other white goods, is bidding against the Swedish giant Electrolux for the control of the debt-ridden Daewoo Electronics
Electrolux has said that it has made a bid to buy Daewoo Electronics of South Korea.
Electrolux spokesman Anders Edholm said Wednesday that "we can confirm we've made an indicative offer" but declined to comment on the amount of the bid.
