Koc Holding's Arcelik, a leading white goods manufacturer in Turkey, continues growing through investments made at home and abroad.
The company determined its foreign course of action according to international economic developments, closing 2005 with an annual turnover of 3.1 billion euros.
Arcelik plans to give weight to American and Chinese markets first.
Arcelik General Manager Aka Gunduz Ozdemir, who spoke about the company's 2005 performance and 2006 targets yesterday, told reporters the company would maintain their success this year.
Arcelik will enter China's white goods market with washing machines and dishwashers, he said. "We conducted a survey in China and saw that there is a market for selling white goods. We started selling washing machines and dishwashers in line with their expectations. We have the necessary technical infrastructure for this," he remarked.
They will invest in China when they attain the desired sales figures, Ozdemir said, indicating that Arcelik obtained 40 percent of its turnover from foreign sales, and plan to be very assertive in the world's economic giant.
Arcelik manufactured its first dryer with an investment of 135 million euros last year in Turkey, as it laid the foundation of a factory in Russia to manufacture washing machines and refrigerators.
The company also manufactures deep-freezers at the Arctic factory in Romania.
