The Sunday Mirror reports yesterday that another instance of a Candy washing machine "exploding" has come to light after. We reported the story in November 2010 and since then we have heard of several other reports of similar failures happening on other Candy and Hoover washing machines.
Sally Baker was reported as being hurt when the top of her washing machine blew off during a spin which does fit with what we've seen already of this fault.
She suffered bruising to her back when fragments of a sideboard flew across the room and said only a worktop saved her from the full force of the blast.
We have had reports of many models being affected by some engineers, notably all with different load capacities which would indicate that the problem may be far more widespread than it first seemed.
Despite allegations involving other models, Candy are apparently refusing to recall the affected washing machine models.
