This year, in the whitegoods category of the Domestic & General TEQ (Technical Excellence and Quality) Awards all three winners are also UK Whitegoods repairs@ agents. All of these companies have previously won an award for cusrtomer service from Domestic & General.


The Domestic & General press release is as follows;

Fifteen repairers celebrated winning Domestic & General's coveted Total Excellence and Quality (TEQ) awards for customer service at three presentation ceremonies in Perth, Scotland, Leeds and Reading in September. Established in 1998, TEQ is the UK's largest independent survey of repair standards on domestic appliances and is widely credited as driving improved service standards throughout the repair industry.

Domestic & General, which administers the TEQ Awards, surveys customers annually on all areas of repair performance. Criteria include how politely and efficiently the initial call requesting the repair was handled and how punctual, efficient and courteous the repair engineer was whilst in their home. The company issued around 350,000 customer satisfaction questionnaires in 2005/6 and had a response rate of 40%. This survey has given Domestic & General a unique insight into the overall quality of repairer services across the UK.

There are three categories - heating, kitchen appliances and home entertainment, which are split into large and small companies.

Many of the winners have won before and familiar names keep cropping up in the lists of winners, showing that good customer service, once acquired, is a hard habit to break.

Kitchen Appliances (White Goods)
1st Jim Grice of Sutton in Ashfield, Nottingham also won in 2005.
2nd Domestic Appliance Repairs of Rotherham, also won in 2004 and 2005.
3rd GT Electrical of Hull, also won in 2003, 2004 and 2005
