  • Bosch WFT 2800 help please

We have had a Bosch WFT 2800 for many years and it has been a reliable machine.
A problem has recently developed. It starts it's normal cycle but then stops. It displays 'drying time 3 mins' even though this has not been set. It also goes to 'pre-wash' though this has not been set either.
If we switch it off at the mains it resumes its normal cycle when switched on again.
I would like to know if this is a major or minor fault. That is, is it worth the cost of calling out an engineer if this is this then end of its cycle (life).
    Thank you for any help

Probably nothing more than a worn out pump and not draining as it should. Check the filter is not blocked and also that the pump Impellor has no lateral movement.

      Thanks for the prompt help.
Not sure I can do either thing as very untechnical.
Is it a minor problem if it is the motor and should I get an engineer?

I couldn't be certain hence why I suggested you look first at the user accessible pump. Though a local engineer would not doubt check that for you anyway, so perhaps that might be the way forward for you?
