Matrix brand logoMatrix Appliances

The Matrix brand name, so far as appliances goes, seems to be a part of the CDA Group based in Langer, Nottinghamshire that is now a part of the Amica company.

As far as we can gather the brand seems to be solely used by Wren Kitchens more or less as an "own label" type of branding. This means that most of the products will be the same as other stuff that's out there but, what equates to what model is hard to tell as technical information on the brand's products is not widely available.

Expect rebadged versions of standard rebadged CDA products mostly although now that Amica is involved there will no doubt be Amica products in the mix as well.

  Matrix Market Position

Firmly in the budget camp.

We suspect that many of the products are low quality Far Eastern in origin or have been in large part. Especially in repsect to laundry products.

  Matrix Service

This is a a bit of a mystery as officially we have no idea who is carrying out service on these products. We suspect however (99.9% sure) that service may possibly be carried out through the repaircare network as, that's who have been doing the CDA work but, we're really not certain.

That being the case, for much of England expect a CDA branded van to turn up for service most of the time and elsewhere it will be a subcontracted repair agent.

  Matrix Spare Parts

Very little is known about Matrix spare parts as we have had little call to investigate obtaining them, most likely due to low sales volumes under the brand name.

When looking across all the major spares suppliers however we could find zero information or spare parts availability for any products we looked at. We suspect therefore that spares supplies will be either very difficult if possible or restricted to one outlet only.

If our assesment is correct and these are Far Eastern in origin, do not expect spare parts to be available for much more than a few years. If that.

You can find out more about why sapres and service matter in the article dedicated to that topic but, you should read that before buying.

Overall Rating

Not enough information on the Cata brand to offer a lot of opinion
Not much is known about Matrix, where to get service, spare parts or much of any information about the cookers and other appliances and with no spare parts listed with the main trade suppliers it is hard to recommend the brand.

Please do not use the comments below to ask for technical help or fault advice on any appliance as the engineers will not see the request here. Please use the forums where more help may be available.
