Viceroy appliances brand logoViceroy Appliances

Viceroy appliances would appear to be yet another own brand label that we could only foind for sale at Wren Kitchens although it is a CDA owned brand.

The brand is merely that, a brand name using rebadged products made by various manufacturers or producers in multiple factories, countries and continents.

What we think is going on is largely the same sort of thing as used to happen with Hygena and Diplomat where one was a lower specification in terms of features or supplier and the other a bit better but at a higher price point.

Think on it like being aking to the "value" range in a supermarket compared with the mid range products on shelves. Same idea largely, to upsell you to a bit of a posher brand with a few more bells and whistles.

However, at the time of writing at least, we couldn't find any Viceroy products listed at Wren so it is possible that the brand has been ceased or it's being used for third party kitchen resellers for Wren. We really don't know what the play is there.

  Viceroy Market Position

Unsurprisingly, we would have to say budget from what we've seen and with a lack of retail pricing available. We can say that as we do know that they don't actually make a single appliance so, it can only really be bought in from the usual suspects.

We suspect that many of the products are low quality Far Eastern or Turkish in origin or have been in large part from the usual suppliers of such goods that we all know and love so much. Who says sarcasm can’t work on the internet.

Basically it will almost certainly be a mash up of the usual Vestel, Midea and all the rest just the same as most of the other own label brands that are used by larger kitchen retailers.

Do not expect quality or longevity or anything all that different from any of the other brands of this ilk.

  Viceroy Service

We had to dig about a little to find this out, service would appear to be carried out through a company called DMK which, to our knowledge, was formed by ex-MFI staff when MFI went pop. This makes sense in some way as there is a connection with Wren Kitchen back the old Hygena which, of course, was an integral part of MFI further down the road.

Little surprise then.

Service is apparently carried out by CDA's own service force or as with others the service cover is outside the employed engineer's areas will in turn then be farmed out to subcontracted repair agents across the UK or, where required.

How good or bad the service is we do not know as there has not been enough feedback from the repairers to say much, probably due to low repair volumes as a result of not enough product in the field or, it’s not been around long enough.

Any technical support at all outside if Viceroy’s own designated service provider is extremely unlikely from what we have seen thus far.

  Viceroy Spare Parts

Just as you will find for most brands like this, very little is known about Viceroy spare parts as we have had little call to investigate obtaining them, most likely due to low sales volumes under the brand name as we said above.

When looking across all the major spares suppliers however we could find zero or close to zero information or spare parts availability for any products we looked at. We suspect therefore that spares supplies will be either very difficult if possible or restricted to one outlet only.

How long you will be able to get parts for, unknown.

What other products use the same parts as Viceroy branded stuff, unknown.

Whether spare part prices are reasonable or not, unknown.

Freezer not freezing now after engineer attended to look at what was making a loud noise.
Hi , we reported a loud noise from our integrated fridge freezer that we bought from wren originally and was told by wren to contact dmk so we did. They arranged for a engineer to attend on the 14 th December after he attended he said it needed a part and would order but the following day our freezer had stopped working which was a Saturday Morning so we could only get hold of dmk on the Monday so had to throw out a lot of frozen food. When I called them on Monday 18th I reported it again but I felt there manor on the phone was not good. I then had to ring them Monday afternoon and Tuesday to find out what was going on and was told an engineer will call me to arrange a date but again I had to ring the original sub contract company Wednesday afternoon to find he was attending Thursday 21st. The same engineer attended and said he needed to order another part so since then we have been without a freezer permanently and a fridge that works on and off since the 14th of December and now dmk are closed until 2nd of January bearing in mind that I have 3 children who are 5 and under. Viceroy appliances
It is not easy to get parts for this own brand by Wren Kitchens. My dishwasher needs some parts, but because their website does not have images I do not want to order.
