Balay was a Spanish appliance manufacturer that is now a regional brand name apparently for the Iberian market so for Spain and Portugal primarily and largely used as an own label brand for Bosch Siemens (BSH Group) just as it does with Pitsos and Thermador for certain regions.
Bosch bought a majority share in Balay way back in 1989 and Bosch acquired the company fully in the late 1990’s.
With the acquisition Bosch got the brands of Lynx, Super Being, Agni, Cork, Newpol and Crolls as well as the Balay brand and the local production where it is cheaper to produce products than it is in Bosch’s home Germany.
Many of the lower range Bosch machines have been made at what’s Balay plants in Spain.
If you do buy a Balay applaince and take it back to another region please do be aware that support for service and spare parts will be difficult as they do seem only to be supported in the local regions and not outside of the regions in which they are sold.
Balay Retail Position
We believe that this is used as a budget alternative to Bosch in the regions that the brand is used in.
There is no official service arrangements that we are aware of in the UK.
Balay Spare Parts
No UK support officially however expect much the same as you would from Bosch and other brands within that group.
