Falcon cookers brand logoFalcon Appliances

What can we say about Falcon range cookers other than, save yourself money on most of them by just buying a Rangemaster because, they are just Rangemaster made machines.

AGA bought the Falcon brand some years ago and in turn they are now owned by the American company Middleby.

As with Rangemaster and AGA the cookers are all pretty much the same thing slightly messed with cosmetically and the rest is largely bought in product from the usual own label brand suppliers which you can also buy from others, often for considerably less money.

If you like or want the look of Falcon and are willing to pay the premium for that and that alone, fine. If not, look elsewhere for better value.

That said, as with Rangemaster the cookers are actually pretty good in performance terms so that isn’t an issue.

If you are looking to buy a new range cooker which is what Falcon is famed for then you should probably read these articles as well:

  Falcon Market Position

Above Rangemaster but not quite in the top leagues in price terms.

Falcon is billed as a “professional” type cooker but if you look closely you will see a startling similarity to Rangemaster and the other brands ini the group like Mercury, AGA and so on. It is so as, they’re all the same thing just dressed differently.

  Falcon Service

As with the other AGA brands, a bit of a mash up really with independent repairers, employed engineers, third party repair agencies and so on.

In short, variable.

  Falcon Spare Parts

Generally okay as with all the other AGA brands and we normally don’t have too much trouble getting Falcon parts and, at a reasonable price so that is in their favour.

Falcon market share
Small UK market share
Small UK market share
Brand kudos
Well known in the industry and the public
Well known in the industry and with the public
Falcon appliance pricing
A big jump for the name and look
Fundementally these are Rangemaster products rebranded with a "Pro" look and it is a bit much of a premium to ask for that in our view
Not bad
Not truly great quality levels but for the money not so bad and better than many other choices you might have
Repair rating
Not bad for the money
Repairers like these range cookers well enough, othe products in the Rangemaster fold they're not so keen on
Repairer support
Most repairers will not have a problem fixing Falcon
With access to spare parts at sensible costs and tech support, most repairers will look at a Falcon appliance
DIY repair rating
A good chunk of repairs can be done by onwers
With parts and information available and reasobnable parts pricing, it is usually fine to DIY most common things that might go wrong
Spare parts availability
Spare parts available from all major suppliers
Mostly easy enough to get from all suppliers
Spare part pricing
None found to form any opinion
With mostly Rangemaster bits in them, Falcon is fine apart from the odd part that can be expensive
Environmental rating
Could do better
Not a lot of information on Falcons's environmental policies but they're good enough cookers and Rangemaster are fairly okay on the environment front

Overall Rating

Good cookers but Rangemaster cheaper
Falcon is the more "professional" range of Rangemaster but asides from the looks we cannot see any reason to pay extra for a Falcon branded one over a bog standard Rangemaster and Falcon looses a point for that
