NordMende Appliances

NordMende company logoYou would be forgiven for thinking that, from the name NordMende that this own label brand was from one of the Nordic countries but, it’s not it’s from Ireland.

The website says that the name is German in origin with roots going back to 1923 in Germany.

The brand name appears to be owned by the Irish distribution company the KAL Group who also now operate the reborn De Dietrich brand name in the UK and Ireland. In the UK they seem to operate under the AB Distributors name.

On a look through the NordMende website the washing machines for example look to be made by Daewoo, the tumble dryers by Crosslee/White Knight and Galanz, refrigeration from Hisense and so on. In other words all the usual own label brand producers and we do not think that NordMende as a company produce a single appliance themselves.

  NordMende Retail Position

We’re really not very sure where this is aimed but at a guess we’d reckon it was the mid-market ground although some of the pricing we see online would seem to indicate the lower echelons.

Thing is, you can buy the same products under different brands elsewhere although the aesthetics might change and the warranty offered.

We suspect that the brand is used for kitchen retailers and independent retailers primarily.

  NordMende Service

Unknown presently but we’d fully expect it to be 0800 Repair and JTM Contracts.

  NordMende Spare Parts

Unknown presently.

There are no listings with any of the major UK suppliers that we could locate so, expect to have issues if you need parts.

Overall Rating

Our advice, avoid this one!
Cheap sourced own label brand products (yes, more) so we'd avoid it

Please do not use the comments below to ask for technical help or fault advice on any appliance as the engineers will not see the request here. Please use the forums where more help may be available.

Nordmende 'service'
We have a Nordmende gas hob. Whilst cooking, the control knobs for the hob actually melted!!!
We contacted Nordmende Ireland and they said they don't have the parts to replace the knobs (!!) and that 'you'll have to try and find them from somewhere else'!
Here's that response: "The part number for the control knob is 42056915 unfortunately we don’t sell this part you could try to source it elsewhere."

This uncaring and ignorant and rude response seems to sum up what type of company they are and how much they care about their customers once their inferior product is sold. Avoid them at all costs.

thanks - I was about to buy one of their fridges... ill stick to a trusted brand rather than paddy power
