SIA appliances brand logoSIA is said to be the “in house” brand for a company called Ship It Appliances based in Nottingham and it is yet another own label brand.

As with all the others of similar ilk the company makes none of the products itself it merely buys them in with their own branding on them.

From what we can see, it’s the usual mix of stuff although this time it looks like a bunch of cheap cooker hoods made by CATA among others as well the normal mix of Chinese and Turkish stuff.

  SIA Spare Parts

We have no clue!

There are no listings or suppliers other than the company themselves that we can find so, if you need parts you may be a bit stuck or forced to go back to the retailer as that’s the only outlet.

  SIA AfterSales Service

Service for some products are seem to be carried out through RepairTech, the rest, we’ve no idea.

While we have no feedback as yet we do know that these machines are at the lower end of the scale and are rebadged so, they will fall in line with most in this area of the market and will not be anything great by any stretch

Our advice, avoid this one!
Yet another one of the cheap own label brand products that we really cannot recommend given the above

Sia Induction hob - poor quality
We’ve had our induction hob for less than 3 months.....
A small battery pack (2 batteries) dropped from a shelf alongside the extractor fan (only a few inches) and where it hit the hob the impact shattered the whole side of the hob and it’s all cracked and splintered glass everywhere.
I would expect it to happen if something heavy landed on it, but a light item shouldn’t do that much damage

Avoid buying from Ship It Appliances
Paid £80 for a mini fridge which was used only for juice cartons and soft drinks for my two young daughters. After one year it stopped working, was overheating and a horrible, brown oily substance was leaking everywhere. The company refused to fix, replace or offer any solution. Terrible customer service and obviously poor quality products sold. Avoid.

I can\'t put into words how bad my experience has been with this product (a cooker hood) and supplier/manufacturer. I made the purchase on the back of a few good reviews but won\'t make that mistake again.

The product is cheap looking, particularly the stainless steel chimney which is flimsy in comparison to the one it replaced. It stopped working completely a few days after installation. Then, after trying to resolve under the warranty, question after question in email after email to the point where I was asked if my electrician had checked if there was a loose wire in the appliance! When I said no and that is wasn\'t up to my electrician to check/repair the product, I was told that it could be collected (although it had to be uninstalled by my electrician and put in a box first!) and taken away to be tested but that if it was found to be working to specification (including with a loose wire), I would be charged for collection!

No offer to help towards the costs of my electrician installing, checking, uninstalling or boxing up the product and ignored my request for a refund and subsequently, ignored my emails.

My worst Amazon purchase by a country mile as the sale details are misleading and the warranty isn\'t worth the paper its written on - nothing but good experiences before this.

They are great at shipping
Bought an under counter SIA fridge last week, the finish was a bit rough and ready, but it was cheap.

There was a messy squirt of caulk sealant inside in the corner, apparently to hold a pipe in place. Quite normal they said, although I\'ve never seen that before. The ice box door is very flimsy and apparently will break if too much ice builds up.

The unit requires a 125mm air gap along each side !!! I checked with SIA and they confirmed. Yes you need 250mm (10\") extra width to install this fridge. so you may need to allow for that when designing your kitchen. It\'s a slim 479mm wide but requires a 729mm wide opening !!!

It also needs to be installed by a qualified electrician, otherwise the warranty is void !!

During operation, our fridge only got the temperature down to 8ºC and that was on the maximum setting. (10ºC on the lower door shelf). In fairness, that may have been because I only let it stand for an hour before switching it on. It should have been two which may have permanently damaged the fridge. My mistake, it did say that in the manual. So my advice is read the manual !! They\'ve advised me my warranty is now void. (fabulous !). So basically I have a useless fridge. I\'m a bit raw from that experience but that\'s a procedure that you need to do with all fridges in fairness to SIA. A cheap fridge, but an expensive lesson.

Finding plusses for this product:-
They used Panther Group for delivery, which were very quick and you can track them on a map online. 10 out of 10 for shipping !!! It does seem to run quietly, so 10 out of 10 for noise free operation.
Build Quality, probably a 4 out of 10. Communication from SIA themselves. they responded to all of my emails, so 6 out of 10. Performance of fridge unfortunately I can only give it a 1 out of 10 from my experience.

Would I recommend a SIA fridge ? Probably not in all honesty. Best to spend a bit more money and go for a brand name, and read the manual of that one !!!! :-)

If you by one start it up on a high heat when it reaches that heat, leave it for 15 minutes if it cuts out send it back, I have been waiting for 3 weeks for mine to be repaired. They say they are having trouble getting the part.
