Working for manufacturers both large and small during that time offers a unique insight into the industry.
Kenneth started out in the appliance industry with his father's (James Watt) business, Glasgow based Loudoun Group Services in 1986 officially although Kenneth was involved in the family business even before he left school. Loudoun's had been running since the mid-seventies.
During the period from 1986 to 1997 Kenneth ran or was heavily involved in various aspects of the group's various businesses which included major agencies fro both Zanussi (Electrolux Group) and the Candy Group including Hoover Service. In the early nineties Kenneth ran WATCO, a division of LGS dealing with spares distribution to local traders.
In 1997 when Loudoun Group Services closed down due to contract changes Kenneth, his father and Robert Daniel set up NW Appliance Repairs in Stewarton, Ayrshire working for various manufacturers and insurance companies primarily.
Kenneth started the original Whitegoods mailing list in 2000 and went on to design the website although it was a few years after the concept was born before UK Whitegoods actually went live during June of 2003. The vast majority of articles that are published on UKW have been written by Kenneth.
Today Kenneth runs the day to day operations of UKW and assists in the operation and running of the Whitegoods Trade Association and is emerged in the world of domestic appliances.
Kenneth also undertakes various consultancy contracts from both public and private sector and offering industry insight to those sectors from detergent manufacturers such as Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, various appliance manufacturers through to government bodies such as the OFT, DEFRA, HSE and others.

Dave started his career in the industry working for his father's business in Exeter, CES, as an apprentice appliance engineer eventually running the day to day operations of the company. This covered retail sales through the store as well as running spares and service areas of the business.
